Oscar's Story

" I was extremely lucky to come across Ruth’s website via Gumtree. I contacted her immediately and we arranged an initial consultation with myself within the week.

We feel strongly that Ruth has been directly responsible for huge improvements in many aspects of Oscar’s development. Over the space of a term Oscar’s imaginative ability has improved dramatically and he can now write his name and draw basic pictures voluntarily. There are many other ways in which Ruth has helped us as a family. She is a great expert in her field and it is wonderful to be able to talk to her regularly, to voice concerns and ask questions. Ruth always has what I feel to be the ‘right’ answer for each particular question. Often she will research and reflect further upon a particular question and will email and discuss fully her conclusions. The extent of her wide breadth of knowledge and practice from drama therapy to music therapy is always evident as she draws on various elements to suit the appropriate issue. Ruth is always warm, friendly and open in the way that she works with Oscar. 

 As Oscar is now about to start school we feel that with Ruth’s support we have achieved phase one of his programme. We have raised his confidence and improved many of his skills so that he is able to enter a mainstream P1 class with confidence. We are happy that Ruth will continue to work with us on the next stage. This will focus in more detail on his language and communication skills as we aim to enable Oscar to engage more fully with his peers. I cannot stress enough how grateful we are to have had Ruth’s professional support for Oscar and for the family as a whole and we look forward to working with her in the future. "
